Advanced Topics

Top

So far, we've used only the New Incident button from the home page. We're going to play with the other ones.

Reviewing and Modifying your Incidents

The EMT assistant provides the possibility to enter several incidents in the same database, fortunately!
You might want to review or modify (or even delete) the incidents you've entered. To do so, you're going to use the Browse Database button, to navigate to the record you want to work on.

Cleaning Up

Once you've uploaded the data on the PC (see next step), you might want to clean up your Palm, to remove the data, and save some space.
To do so, use the Erase All Data or Drop Database button. They both have the same effect, the second one being faster, in case you have a big amount of data on your Palm.

Synchronizing with the PC

Top

This requires a Palm Conduit (provided) to be installed on the PC to synchronize the Palm with. A conduit is a piece of software that reads the Palm database, and uploads it to the PC. This is triggerred during the synchronization process, just like for your addresses, todo list, agenda, etc.
The EMT Assistant comes with its own Conduit, for you to upload the data you've entered on the Palm to the PC. After doing so, you can modify or rework the data, edit a report, etc, from the PC.

Generating the Report

Top

Several formats are available, pdf (acrobat) or Word (Microsoft).
The Word format can be reworked and edited, as opposed to the pdf one, but the pdf can be read on mostly any system, as opposed to Word that is only good for Windows.
